Shoe storage bench ideas

If your entry way is getting cluttered with many different pairs of shoes, try a few of these shoe storage ideas. First if you're using a regular style bench to sit on and slide on your footwear, try replacing it with a shoe storage bench. It can double as storage space and a seat.

Second, you may want to consider culling your shoes and taking the ones that are out of season and storing them elsewhere. It's not easy to say "goodbye" to a pair of designer pumps, but in the winter they'll be safer gently tucked away.

Under bed shoe storage

A great way to store shoes that are out of season, or you don't typically use is to use an under bed shoe storage bin. Because most king size bed frames are very low to the floor, it's impossible to store much of anything under them. However, many rubber storage manufacturers make low profile storage bins that easily slide under these frames. If you are serious about storing your shoes easily, a king size bed can store over 200 pairs of shoes using these plastic bins. Oh, and you can seal them as well. With the use of desiccants you can keep them just as new as the last time you wore them!

Other shoe storage bench solutions

Other things to consider besides the use of a shoe storage bench, would be a hang over the door shoe organizer. These plastic organizers normally come with 2-3 hooks that hang a large compartmented shoe separator down the length of a standard door.

Many people like to place them on the inside face of their coat room doors or entry way closets. Some of these shoe storage systems can hold up to 24 pairs, that's many times more than a storage bench.

Extended shoe storage tips

If you have shoes and clothing that you would like to store for an extended period of time, you may want to follow a few simple tips from the experts. The two biggest elements that are going to age any clothing are going to be exposure to sunlight and air. To protect your investment, you'll want to store your shoes the same way that retailers do in their product packaging. Sealed plastic bags, opaque containers, and desiccants similar to ones found in premium leather products can be used.
